You Have Questions? We Have Answers!

  • You, of course! We represent the commercial construction industry and have an array of companies from larger general contractors to small trade partners as well as industry-adjacent organizations (i.e. banks, law firms, etc.) Our membership generally breaks out into four categories: general contractor, specialty contractor, service provider, and supplier.

  • Great questions! AGC stands for Associated General Contractors, but don’t let that fool you! If your organization touches commercial construction, you have a home with us.

  • If you are a specialty contractor, service provider, or supplier, you may visit this link (link to membership app) or email Valerie Reynolds (link to email) for more information. If you are a general contractor, you may visit this link (link to Volume Dues page) and complete your application. One of our team members will reach out to you within 24 hours.

  • Our membership dues are split into two categories: general contractor members and associate members. Your dues cover all of your employees.

Associate Membership: dues are $1,200 annually. Effective June 1, 2025, our organization will transition from anniversary-date billing to an annual billing cycle for all Associate Members.  If you have yet to be billed for this year, you will receive a prorated invoice for your current membership from your anniversary date through the end of 2025. You will receive an annual invoice in January 2026. If you were billed prior to June 1, 2025, you will receive an invoice in January of 2026 for the prorated 2026 amount.

General Contractor Membership: general contractor members assess themselves dues based on their volume (link to volume dues sheet) within the Chapter territory (link to service map).

1st year dues: 50% of reported volume

2nd year dues: 75% of reported volume

3rd year dues: 100% of reported volume

All general contractors are billed in January. Your membership will be prorated if you join mid-year.

  • We have three main focus areas - providing educational opportunities for the commercial construction community, advocating for our members at the local, state, and federal level, and bringing industry professionals together through various events and networking opportunities to build both the individual and the company they represent.

  • If you are a member of the organization, absolutely! We have a classroom downstairs and a smaller conference space upstairs available to our members free of charge. All we ask is that you review our facility usage policy

We typically need at least two weeks notice for reservations, as our calendar fills up quickly. To make a reservation, please email Valerie or call the office at 210-349-4921.

  • More information on the charges of each committee can be found here (link to committee page). Our current committees are:

    Education
    Safety & Health
    Membership
    Government Affairs
    Construction Leadership Council (CLC)
Special Events Committees (Golf Tournament, Fun Shoot, Safety Fair, Fishing Tournament)

  • Yes! The San Antonio AGC PAC is a separate entity from the Chapter. The PAC is funded by personal (non-corporate) contributions as well as other political action committees. We support local and state candidates from both parties who are advocates of the commercial construction industry. Make a contribution today.
